EMPs

The threat of an EMP is as real as ever with Putin going crazy and rogue nations like Iran and North Korea continuing to pursue nuclear ambitions. An EMP is a way for a lesser nation to wipe out a more powerful nation.

What is an EMP?

EMP stands for “Electromagnetic Pulse” and occurs when a nuclear weapon is detonated in the upper atmosphere. When the explosion occurs, a wave of electromagnetic energy is dispersed through the atmosphere at a distance of up to several hundred miles. This pulse can down nearly all electronic devices including computers and phones, cars, and the power grid.
